Rename[[edit source]]

If someone can provide a screenshot of the title card, I will gladly rename the page to have a lower case "or".

Tanya, April and Ram[[edit source]]

I think we should consider these three appeared on the episode. Even if all scenes they appeared on were the same as the ones on the ending of Detained, the actors were still credited, and they didn't appear on flashbacks (which is what we normally don't consider appearances). Yes, it seems to be a long-standing policy to consider actors credited in an episode and actually present onscreen as appearing in the story, see discussion of appearances in TV stories. Amorkuz 19:47, November 27, 2016 (UTC)

Also may I add that in Detained when Quill says "You've all got an hours detention and I've got things to do" she has a closeup but in TMEOWQD the camera angle is on the rest of the class (and therefore on Tanya, April, and Ram). So technically they had a couple of seconds of "appearance" in the latter. Based on this, I'm changing it back. --90.216.63.230talk to me 19:52, November 27, 2016 (UTC)

Even in the final scene, there were some different angles, I believe. Regardless, this is hardly a case of just archive footage. This is two double banked episodes, shot at the same time, so those scenes were shot for Detained and for Metaphysical.

Infobox image[[edit source]]

#1
#2

The infobox image was recently changed to the one on the right. Admittedly, both of those were uploaded by me, but I uploaded the one on the right knowing it was a bit dark but would serve its purpose on Coal Hill school hall and similarly connected pages.

More importantly, though, the reason I feel the one on the left is more fitting is that

a) it focuses on Quill, whom this story is really about
b) it shows the scar, or "What Quill Did"
c) it comes from the climax and emotional core of the story, as she knows Ballon is about to die and forgives him

Now admittedly I have had some qualms about my choice, with the closeup on her face and all, but I do still think it's the most fitting option.

The reason I changed it is that the image looks like it belongs on an individual's page rather than a story. However I do not oppose it being changed back. The preceding unsigned comment was added by DENCH-and-PALMER (talk • contribs) .

These images go well as well. - Sir DENCH-and-PALMER 23:02, December 5, 2016 (UTC)

Sorry for barging in, but I was always interested in the thought process behind choosing an image for infoboxes. It seems to me that an episode entitled "or What Quill Did" can feature an image illustrating what she did, namely the removal of the Arn. For this reason, I would think an image with the scar is more appropriate. Of the two scar images presents, Quill looks sadder and more tragic on the one before the change. Because I think the necessity of surviving Ballon is what she did and it brings sorrow to her. Amorkuz 23:08, December 5, 2016 (UTC)
You're definitely not barging in. I was hoping for a third opinion here. The wider shot in the Cabinet of Souls is a decent candidate, but I do still agree that, between those two, the original still conveys more emotion.

Disclaimer: I've not watched any of these stories. My comments are based on long experience as an admin.
In general, we prefer story infobox images to represent the story. Often, the image even represents the title as well. However, we usually avoid tightly-cropped images of individuals for story infoboxes, instead saving those for character pages.
Last-of-the-time-lords.jpg
As an example of a really good story infobox image, look at this from Last of the Time Lords:
It exactly illustrates the title (Ten and Simms are the last of the TLs at this moment in the DWU). It shows a key point of action in the story: Ten trying to talk Simms down from destroying the world. In my opinion, it's one of the best story infobox images we have on the wiki.
So for those of you who know this story, look at this image as a guildeline.
For ease of reference, I've changed the captions of these photos to numbers as we often do in these types of discussions. That said, I would rule out #1 for the reasons stated above, and have no opinion on #2,#3, and #4 for obvious reasons. Shambala108 00:53, December 6, 2016 (UTC)
Any thoughts anyone? - Sir DENCH-and-PALMER 22:42, December 6, 2016 (UTC)
I think image 3 works the best. - Sir DENCH-and-PALMER 13:35, December 28, 2016 (UTC)
