Talk:The Twilight Zone

From Tardis Wiki, the free Doctor Who reference

Categories[[edit source]]

I’ve removed the categories calling it a television show in-universe per T:NO RW. Almost all references I can find in the DWU seem to be phrased ambiguously such that it is unclear whether they refer to a series or an actual location. In fact, Forever Autumn has direct reference to it unambiguously phrased as such to suggest a location, so the only thing stopping me form converting this outright into a location article is the possible he may have been joking. What do you think? NightmareofEden 16:32, April 25, 2020 (UTC)

I think you need to stop removing and changing things in your edits without having had much editing experience here. I don't have time right now to go into details, but we don't take T:NO RW as strictly as you are taking it, especially when it comes to categories. If you're unsure about something, ask an admin first please. Thanks Shambala108 16:48, April 25, 2020 (UTC)
As concerns the specific Twilight Zone issue, I think NightmareOfEden does have a point in the sense that some of the references to it in Doctor Who seem to be references to "the Twilight Zone" in the "namedropping aliens from other sci-fi universe" way rather than the "it exists as fiction on the DWU Earth" way. Shell Shock and Forever Autumn, in particular, are clearly talking about "the Twilight Zone" as an actual concept, albeit one referenced in a possibly-unreliable TV series, rather than quoting the italicised title of the TV series. This might support a Twilight Zone page separate from this one, in the same way we not only have The Lord of the Rings but also Gandalf, Sauron, Gollum and Mordor. --Scrooge MacDuck 16:57, April 25, 2020 (UTC)
Interesting. I would comment but I didn’t get any sleep at all night last night and it’s not as if I’m under any strict schedule during these quarantine times so I’m going off to just sleep now. Might actually watch some Twilight Zone before I do though, this has got me in the mood for it! And maybe read a few short ‘weird fiction’ stories, including Shearman, which brings me full circle since he is also mentioned on this page! But yeah you’re right that some stories do appear to allude seemingly to an actual zone of the name and nature without giving the slightest hint of its fictionality jussssssst a thought.
