This template doesn't work in most skins[[edit source]]
Unless you're using Monobook, this template totally obscures the first line of text in an article. I can't quite figure out how to make it better. It really doesn't behave like the Memory Alpha one does, and I assume that's the look we were going for. MemAlpha has a whole lot of pre-coded div class templates undergirding their site. That's probably the difference, but my programming knowledge on wiki doesn't extend to class sheets. Hopefully someone who knows more about such things will find a way to make this work as intended one day. CzechOut ☎ | ✍ 09:17, 24 June 2008 (UTC)
- Okay, I seem to have found a format that works across all skins and all lengths of articles. This width does slightly mangle stubs with one-line leads, in that it moves the "edit" link for the next section just a bit to the left (see Jasmine Breaks), but that's really a minor consideration. That problem isn't really one with the template but with the stubbiness of the article. In articles that have a reasonable lead (see Tony Dow, Verity Lambert, John Nathan-Turner, BBC Television Centre, Riverside Studios, etc.), it works a lot better than the previous version, because you can actually completely read the text of the first few lines. - Please note that the template is taking a while to populate. If you encounter a page where the template doesn't look like it does on the template page, you may need to perform an "empty edit" to get it to refresh. Just edit the article, then submit, without making alterations. The new version will then appear. CzechOut ☎ | ✍ 17:38, 24 June 2008 (UTC)
