Template talk:Revised editions of Doctor Who TV stories

From Tardis Wiki, the free Doctor Who reference

Pages[[edit source]]

Aren't most pages in this template not meant to exist as their own pages? I don't recall what forum it was, but I'm pretty sure these aren't meant to have their own pages. Cookieboy 2005 16:10, 12 October 2024 (UTC)

Definitely this was a bit provocative on my part, interested in working towards the wiki having more of a scaffolding for these things. I got carried away defining the oeuvre of Chris Thompson! Much of our content on revised editions of old stories comes from Wikipedia, and I don't think it had ever really been integrated into the wiki system of doing things. I looked around and saw some references to a Shada discussion from 2018, but unfortunately that one seems lost to time, maybe? I do understand that the animations would need a big general discussion to get their own pages, I just thought they fit into the category set by live action new versions of old serials. All new live-action versions of old serials must be merged into the originals — this was decided as part of the {{cite source}} sweep. {{store variant data}} and the detailed citation model of {{cite source}} are both useful here. But the redirects can definitely exist, and this template can link to those. --Scrooge MacDuck 16:52, 12 October 2024 (UTC)
