Thaumoctopus memeticus
Thaumoctopus memeticus was a species who, according to one account, constituted the Enemy in the War in Heaven.
Named after the mimic octopus (Thaumoctopus mimicus) by Maddox, they were cephalopod creatures with the ability to perfectly mimic any living thing. They existed in four dimensions, using tentacles from their own pasts and futures to make up their mimic forms. They could also turn themselves into ideas.
T. memeticus began developing in the Cretaceous period when a timeship of the Great Houses crashed into Earth's ocean and began affecting local biology. It was only through about 65,000,000 years of evolution that the T. memeticus fully became a threat to the Great Houses.
As the "mother of all cryptids", the T. memeticus caught the attention of Stendec of Faction Paradox. (PROSE: T. memeticus: A Morphology)
