In 2008, the Tenth Doctor lit a funeral pyre for the Saxon Master after he had died from a gunshot wound inflicted on him by Lucy Saxon, and had refused to regenerate. (TV: Last of the Time Lords [+]Loading...["Last of the Time Lords (TV story)"]) The Master's body was cremated, but part of him survived through his signet ring.
