The Shadow Vortex (audio story)
The Shadow Vortex was the first story in the audio anthology Agents of Chaos, produced by Big Finish Productions. It was written by David Llewellyn and featured John Hurt as the War Doctor and Jacqueline Pearce as Cardinal Ollistra and introduced Honeysuckle Weeks as Heleyna.

Cardinal Ollistra exploits the War Doctor’s affection for Earth to send him to East Berlin, 1961, on the trail of a Dalek agent. Lara Zannis has breached the planet’s quantum shield on a very special mission for the Dalek Time Strategist.
Caught between MI6 and the KGB, the War Doctor must first escape the Stasi before he can hope to stop Lara. Cold War scientists are about to make a breakthrough – the Daleks want control of the "Shadow Vortex", and Agent Zannis can provide it.

- This story was first broadcast on BBC Radio 4 Extra on 18 February 2023.[1] It was later edited into two parts which were first broadcast on 8 and 11 December 2023.[2][3] The first part ends after the Dalek Time Strategist proclaims that the Doctor will vanish from the timelines.
