Thomas Grissell

Thomas Grissell

Thomas Grissell was a building contractor. He worked with his cousin Samuel Morton Peto on the construction of Nelson's Column.

On 23 October 1843, both Grissell and Peto were possessed by Sevakrill who killed and ate twelve humans who were due to dine with them atop the column. The Fifth Doctor confronted them and appealed to them to build a mental barrier between themselves and the host. They managed to do so and both were freed. It took them some time to recover and they forgot all about the incident. The Doctor decided not to tell them that the stomach pain they had was a result of digesting human meat.
