Thomas Middleton
From Tardis Wiki, the free Doctor Who reference
Thomas Middleton was an English playwright in the 16th century.
There was some evidence that William Shakespeare's play Macbeth contained "interpolations" drawn from Middleton's work. (PROSE: The True Tragedie of Macbeth) In what appeared to be Shakespeare's working notes for The Tempest, he made a note to remind himself to check if Middleton was not already doing a shipwreck story. However, these jottings were part of the Shakespeare Notebooks and in the extract most-commonly cited as anachronistic proof of their inauthenticity. (PROSE: The Tempest – A Work in Progress)
