Time field disturbance effect

From Tardis Wiki, the free Doctor Who reference

A time field disturbance effect, or time field disturbance, was "a detectable change in the pattern of energy radiated by the Eye of Harmony through the Vortex", (GAME: "Player's Handout" [+]Part of The Legions of Death, Loading...{"namedpart":"Player's Handout","1":"The Legions of Death (game)"}) also described as "a distortion in the Time Field". (GAME: "Planned Encounters" [+]Part of The Legions of Death, Loading...{"namedpart":"Planned Encounters","1":"The Legions of Death (game)"}) Such anomalies were necessarily caused by the operation of a TARDIS or similar vehicle, but most were so small as to be unnoticeable. However, diverting a TARDIS's energy to directly influence the material world would cause a much greater disturbance, (GAME: "Player's Handout" [+]Part of The Legions of Death, Loading...{"namedpart":"Player's Handout","1":"The Legions of Death (game)"}) causing a pulse-wave which could easily be detected by another TARDIS from inside the Vortex and used to pinpoint its origins. Such a signal was what alerted other Time Lords to the activities of a Renegade in 43 AD Britain.
