Timothy Drake

From Tardis Wiki, the free Doctor Who reference

Timothy Drake was an early-20th century human musician. Although he was a genius composer, he "never got that big break", and was stuck as an underachieving piano teacher well into middle age, his talent unrecognised. However, playing around with the "Devil's Chord" tritone, he rediscovered the Lost Chord, a mythical sequence of notes which, unbeknownst to him, summoned Maestro into the universe (TV: The Devil's Chord [+]Loading...["The Devil's Chord (TV story)"]) thanks to the Fourteenth Doctor's casting of salt at the edge of the universe having created a breach in the fabric of reality. Maestro's child Harbinger, using the name of "Henry Arbinger", signed up for music lessons with Drake until Maestro decided to reveal themself, rising out of the piano in their signature move. Maestro made Harbinger vanish, and, after explaining their nature to Drake, reminded him of the multitude of songs he'd been repressing all his life. While Drake was briefly enthused at the promise of being freed from their burden, Maestro's way of getting them out turned out to be to violently and literally suck them out of Drake's body, seemingly killing him in the process. This was the start of a wider effort on Maestro's part to rob humanity of all talent for or interest in music, as Maestro viewed it as their sole birthright.

Other than Henry Arbinger, his students included Charlie Shelley, Stephen Fielding, Robert Owens and David Hangley. (TV: The Devil's Chord [+]Loading...["The Devil's Chord (TV story)"])
