Biography[[edit] | [edit source]]

Tom Donahue was a worker at Nathaniel Seers' bottle factory in London in the 1890s. He lived at number forty-two Market Street, Whitechapel. Tom injured his hand when it was caught in the cogs of a machine. Instead of receiving the usual compassion that Seers showed his employees, he was abruptly fired and consequently lost his home and was unable to get proper medical attention. Unbeknownst to him, it was not his employer who showed him such cruelty, but a Zygon double who had taken his place. His injured hand grew infected and his health rapidly declined.

Living on the streets, Tom decided to return to Seers's Superior Bottles during the night of 11 January 1894. Lacking any plan of action once he got there, he stumbled upon Seers' Zygon double dismembering a corpse. Terrified by the sight and Seers' glowing red eyes, Tom fled the seen and believed he had seen the devil. During his flight, he ran into the Eighth Doctor and Sam Jones, who attemped to calm him and learn what had frightened him so bad. Tom told them he had seen the devil at the factory, but was too afraid to explain what factory he came from and ran away into the fog. Sam and the Doctor attempted to pursue him, but while hidden in the fog, Tom was attacked and killed by one of the Zygons' Skarasens near the Thames. After Tom's death, Professor George Litefoot performed a post-mortem on him to discover what had happened. (PROSE: The Bodysnatchers)
