A UNIT sergeant served under Brigadier Lethbridge-Stewart.

The sergeant was part of the convoy which travelled to the Newton Institute. When a knight charged at them and drove the convoy into the mud, the sergeant and the rest of the soldiers got out and tried to get the vehicles out, but were then attacked by a group of roundheads.
Afterwards, they managed to get moving again, but were almost blown up by a V1. When the sergeant had recovered, he told a farmworker what had happened. (TV: The Time Monster)
