Universal Cook Book

The Universal Cook Book was a cookery book which was owned by Lady Penelope Creighton-Ward in 2065. She kept it in the library of Creighton-Ward Manor, amongst other cookery books.
MI5 agent Steel, claiming to be a book salesman as part of a plot to steal the invisible ray torch, arrived at the manor and asked Parker if Penelope would be interested in the new Universal Cook Book. Upon being shown to Lady Penelope, she told him that her library already contained every cookery book ever published.
Later, criminal the Hood attempted much the same, even giving word-for-word the same proposal. Penelope remarked that there were more salesmen than Universal Cook Books. (COMIC: The Vanishing Ray [+]Loading...["The Vanishing Ray (comic story)"])
