Okay, so, immediate issues. mainpage-box-characters is causing issues for my idea, at MediaWiki:Mainpage.css. Specifically "max-width: 20.75%;". That needs to be tweaked if this approach is going to work here. Needs some work here still. Immediate thoughts. I think then splitting that picture down the middle and then having it slightly too big so it overlaps past the boxes, leaving no spaces, will be a decent option here. It'll give us a neat workaround to how mediawiki handles galleries so we can squeeze out having two links within one picture. But this is just my design. I think we have something here. Also, Template:Mainpage Box Friends and the main page display differently.
