Quotes and picture captions

Please do not use quotes on articles as we have decided not to use them on the wikia. Secondly please do not leave your picture captions too long as it can distrupt the format of the page. Thanks. --Revan\Talk 19:34, April 26, 2011 (UTC)

Quick pointer here: I notice that you like to write long summaries of infomation on character pages. While I do like to have lots of information, the point of a wiki is to be able to concisely summarize events. The trick is to have quality over quantity. Stop adding overloads of images to articles. Now.

You must stop adding loads and loads of images to article. There are not needed. TIt seriously messes with the formatting of the page. You have added about six to eight images to Doctor Who (1996) - and I had to roll back the edit has it messed with the formatting and most of the images were badly crashed or poor resolution because of the size you chose and where therefore poor quality.

You have been warned before and two admins reverted you edits at the Eleventh Doctor page for doing the exact same thing. Please stop doing this. MM/Want to talk? 22:23, December 28, 2011 (UTC)

Please do not add an overload of images onto articles, as all you edits to the Eleventh Doctor have been. You have been warned before, and I will not ask again. I don't see why you insist on adding them, no more images are needed. MM/Want to talk? 23:51, February 16, 2012 (UTC)

Hat images

Couple of points about your edit revealed by this diff at hat:

• Do not specify a thumbnail size, per T:THUMB SIZE. Just type thumb, and move on. We want all pics within the body of an article to have the same width. We know this is done differently on other wikis, but, here at Tardis, we want uniformity.
• When you call a picture, do so on a new line. Your closing brackets should not abut a piece of ordinary text. It's helpful to those editors who come after you if they can see where the file declaration ends and the text begins. So this is correct:

• Avoid declaring one image to go to the left directly across from another image on the right. Articles should never have two images parallel to each other on opposite side of the page. This forces text to unnaturally flow in a "canyon" artificially created by a pic on either side. Unless a section is exceptionally long, it's a good rule of thumb to use a maximum of only one pic per section. The following would definitely be wrong.

• Just because we allow one picture per section doesn't mean that a picture a section is a required. In fact, it's often a bad idea to use one pic a section, if the sections are relatively brief. You need to stand back and look at the article as a whole. Pictures shouldn't flood the frame, but instead have plenty of room to breathe. It's for this reason that both of your Seventh Doctor images will now be removed from the article. Do not replace them.
• Think of pictures as creating a vertical path down the sides of an article, encouraging readers to continue ever downward. They should be spread out in an article, so that the path suggests movement. If you put too many pics in, or arrange them so that they're dirrectly opposite each other, the eye stops moving downward.

Christmas cheer

Happy holidays!

As this fiftieth anniversary year comes to a close, we here at Tardis just want to thank you for being a part of our community — even if you haven't edited here in a while. If you have edited with us this year, then thanks for all your hard work.

This year has seen an impressive amount of growth. We've added about 11,000 pages this year, which is frankly incredible for a wiki this big. November was predictably one of the busiest months we've ever had: over 500 unique editors pitched in. It was the highest number of editors in wiki history for a year in which only one programme in the DWU was active. And our viewing stats have been through the roof. We've averaged well over 2 million page views each week for the last two months, with some weeks seeing over 4 million views!

We've received an unprecedented level of support from Wikia Staff, resulting in all sorts of new goodies and productive new relationships. And we've recently decided to lift almost every block we've ever made so as to allow most everyone a second chance to be part of our community.

2014 promises to build on this year's foundations, especially since we've got a full, unbroken series coming up — something that hasn't happened since 2011. We hope you'll stick with us — or return to the Tardis — so that you can be a part of the fun!

Tense

Hi! Please proofread your edits. You have been adding several present tense statements to Twelfth Doctor, when we only use the past tense on in universe articles. I've had to undo some of your work because it was in the wrong tense. Thanks! Shambala108 ☎ 22:33, October 13, 2014 (UTC)
