The head of the Presidency was the leader of the Homeworld when the War King first warned the Great Houses about the enemy. After the Faraway Declaration, his severed head travelled through the entire lifespan of the universe, for a time known as the Poenari Relic, before it was returned to the Great Houses with the First Message from the Enemy between its teeth. He was succeeded by Umbaste. (PROSE: The Book of the War)

As the Lord President

Terrified that the War King's predictions of the War would prove to be correct, the head of the Presidency refused to accept that there was any enemy waiting in the Homeworld's future. (PROSE: The Book of the War)

As the Poenari Relic

The Poenari Relic was a severed head of a terrified mustachioed male kept in the Order of the Dragon's ancient collection in Poenari before the town was liberated by the Turks, at which point it was kept by the Ottomans for a century. It was preserved in a substance similar to honey. According to legend, the relic predated the founding of the Order's predecessors during the crusades; it originally belonged to one of the "first warriors" who had defended the gates of Ubar at the dawn of the world and was slain by the s'tanim. The Order believed it had been charged with defending the relic until the end of time, at which point it would be returned to Heaven.

The head was popularly believed to have belonged to Vlad III. (PROSE: The Book of the War)
