An atomic cannon was a type of weapon.
In 1066, the Monk planned to destroy the Vikings' fleet of longships with an atomic cannon to allow King Harold Godwinson to win the Battle of Hastings. The plan was defeated when Saxons from Wulnoth's village ran the Monk out of his monastery. (TV: The Time Meddler)
