British locations is both an umbrella category, for housing subcategories about the constituent countries of Great Britain, and an page-level category, for those pages about British location where the specific home country isn't known.

This category has the potential for huge amounts of recursion, which can make maintaining the database much more difficult. In order to simplify the organisation, please do not make multiple categories for the same information. This category should have only three sub-categories:

  1. category:Welsh locations
  2. category:Scottish locations
  3. category:English locations

All information should then be filed into one of these three categories, except that which can not be identified by region. Information about British locations for which the home country isn't known should go into this category, category:British locations.
