Tlaloc was the Aztec god of water and vegetation. (PROSE: The Aztecs) The Aztecs offered sacrifices to him when they needed rain. When the First Doctor and his companions visited the Aztecs, Barbara stopped the sacrifice of the first victim to Tlaloc.
