January was a month when a number of Doctor Who universe stories or products were released or published. The following things have no more specific release date than the month of January.

• 1976 - Nationwide special was first broadcast on BBC1
• 1982 - The hardcover version of the novelisations of The Dæmons was published by Target Books.
• 1988 - Titan Books launched a new line of books entitled Doctor Who: The Scripts, with the publication of the script for An Unearthly Child, which was published under the working title The Tribe of Gum. This series of books continued until 1994, although the second volume was not published for some eighteen months.
• 1999 - Walking to Babylon was released by Big Finish Productions in their Bernice Summerfield series.
• 2000 - The Land of the Dead was first released in the Big Finish's Main Range.
• 2003 - Dalek War: Chapter One was released by Big Finish in their Dalek Empire series.
• 2005 - Snake Head, the third story in the Big Finish UNIT audio series, was first released.
• 2006 - Pier Pressure was first released in Big Finish's Main Range.
• 2008 - Big Finish's Main Range audio story The Bride of Peladon was first released.
• 2008 - The Companion Chronicles audio story The Catalyst was first released.
• 2008 - Dead London was released by Big Finish in Eighth Doctor Adventures.
• 2008 - The Fearless: Part 4 was released by Big Finish in their Dalek Empire series.
• 2010 - The Doctor Who spin-off series K9 began airing in Scandinavia.
• 2010 - The Radio Times published a special retrospective magazine available by mail order.
• 2010 - VOR 11 was published by Big Finish Productions.
• 2011 - Peri and the Piscon Paradox was first released by Big Finish in The Companion Chronicles.
• 2011 - The 2011 series of IDW Publishing's Doctor Who Ongoing comic book, featuring the adventures of the Eleventh Doctor, was first released.
• 2011 - The audio stories The Crimes of Thomas Brewster and Prisoner of the Sun were first released by Big Finish.
• 2011 - VOR 23 was published by Big Finish Productions.
• 2012 - The anthology The Fourth Doctor Box Set containing The Foe from the Future and The Valley of Death was released by Big Finish in The Lost Stories.
