Broderick Naismith was the Chief Public Relations Officer at the Braxiatel Collection (PROSE: Professor Bernice Summerfield and the Doomsday Manuscript) and Irving Braxiatel's right hand man. (PROSE: The Squire's Crystal)
His job involved creating publicity brochures and giving lectures at planets that encouraged the authorities to send their students and artefacts to the Braxiatel Collection. (PROSE: The Fall)
Dominic Troy and Poppaea Prince met Naismith as a result of their incarceration at the Collection. Bernice Summerfield, having already escaped to find Braxiatel, missed out on the chance of finally meeting him. Dominic and Poppy agreed that he was "pretty special" and "what a guy". Naismith had imparted words of wisdom on Dominic which resounded with him greatly. (PROSE: The Squire's Crystal)
According to Orst Gemayal, when the Fifth Axis invaded the Collection, Naismith tried to send a message of help or warning, but failed. He was the first person to be publicly executed by the Axis. When Bernice Summerfield heard of his death, she felt like she had lost a friend, though she had never met Naismith. (PROSE: The Fall)
