A jungle was a very dense forest, usually located in hot climates. The Doctor encountered jungles on many planets in his travels, including an artificial jungle on the Ark. (TV: The Ark) He also had a jungle in his TARDIS. (PROSE: Sky Pirates!) Planets that were dominated by their jungles were referred to as jungle planets.
