Worldbuilding
- The Doctor mentions Brewster.
- The Doctor comments he keeps running into "the worst" of his old school friends.
- The Doctor disapproves of the Curator being meddlesome and cryptic, stating he's surprised the Curator isn't also Scottish.
- Tania mentions the version of the Curator who gave her her key as being "all bowties and elbows."
- Andy says the rapidly vanishing house reminds him of the Nothing from The NeverEnding Story and how he always cried when the horse was swallowed up.
Notes
- The title of this audio story calls back to TV: The Keys of Marinus, a First Doctor serial from season 1. Like in Marinus, all the keys must be used together in order to resolve the central plot.
Continuity
- Tania's description of the Curator matches the Eleventh Doctor. Whilst in a form resembling the Fourth Doctor, the Curator had confided to the Eleventh Doctor that the faces they revisited would be "just the old favourites", to which the younger Doctor shot a knowing wink. (TV: The Day of the Doctor)
- Liv recalls dealing with time loops and Ogrons. (AUDIO: UNIT Dating)
- Helen recalls sending a message to the past using TARDIS keys. (AUDIO: UNIT Dating)
- Zakia and Aisha discuss their trip to 1941 and the Doctor's refusal to change history to save Sanjit from being shot. (AUDIO: Baker Street Irregulars)
- When the timeline is reset, the TARDIS team are faced with Robin's father, who is very concerned, asking them what they're doing out in public and why they aren't wearing masks. The TARDIS team are unfamiliar with the idea of COVID-19 and the Lockdown. (WC: Incoming Message et al)
