History
Donna and Shaun had bought the house with the money they received from a triple roll-over prize lottery ticket that had been gifted to them on their wedding day, but Donna was later convinced by subconscious memories of the DoctorDonna to donate the rest of their winnings to charity. As a result, they family were left unable to afford running the house, with Shaun becoming a taxi driver and Rose selling hand made toys online for money to support the house. Behind the scenes
Although not made explicit in the episode, comments made by Russell T Davies in DWM 597 suggested that Rose Noble's house, 23 Bachelor Road, is located in Camden. His comments were made to account for the casting of Yasmin Finney, despite an age discrepancy.
But you mustn’t forget, uh, that time cloud that descended on Camden in 2017 and dislocated everyone by exactly eight months and three days. We’ll tell that story one day. I will come to that in Series Seven.
