After the Tenth Doctor had no other choice but to erase Donna Noble's memory after her mind began to break down following her becoming the DoctorDonna during the Planetary Relocation Incident, (TV: Journey's End [+]Loading...["Journey's End (TV story)"]) Donna began a relationship with Shaun Temple, moving out of her family's home and into a small flat, as that was all that they could afford with their combined income.
Following the reversion of the Saxon Master's attempt at creating the Master Race by Rassilon on Christmas Day 2009, during his "final reward" leading up to his regeneration, the Doctor visited Geoff Noble sometime before his death, who kindly gave the Doctor a quid, which he then used to purchase a Celebration Lottery ticket in 2010, learning of the winning numbers to ensure that Donna would win the triple rollover. In Spring 2010, Donna Noble and Shaun Temple's wedding was held at a church; after the ceremony was completed at around midday, Donna and Shaun exited the church and into the joyous congregation of friends and family, including Wilfred Mott, Sylvia Noble, Minnie Hooper, and Nerys. (TV: The End of Time (part two) [+]Loading...{"part":"Two","1":"The End of Time (TV story)"}) This was Donna's second wedding, as her first was ruined by her groom who was plotting with a spider woman behind her back. Shaun high fived a man while Donna excitedly pointed to her wedding ring, as confetti flew through the air and a wedding photographer took photographs. Wilf kissed both Donna and Shaun on their cheeks and Sylvia hugged Donna, before Wilf asked everyone for a big cheer. Donna then gathered just her and Shaun's friends for a group photograph, although Nerys complained about the peach colour of her dress. Wilf, Sylvia, and Minnie stood to the side, as Minnie playfully teased about going out with Wilf until she returned to Donna to attempt to catch her bouquet. Sylvia then noticed that, from beyond a lychgate, the Doctor was quietly observing the proceedings next to his TARDIS.
Sylvia and Wilf walked over to the Doctor, with Wilf telling the Doctor he knew he would be okay and that Joshua and Abigail Naismith had been arrested, before asking him about the identity of the Woman. However, the Doctor didn't answer, instead explaining that he had gone back in time, borrowed £1 from Geoff Noble and purchased a lottery ticket as a wedding present, moving Sylvia emotionally. Sylvia and Wilf returned to Donna, handing the ticket to her, which she initially dismissed as a cheap present after suspecting it was a bill, before remembering that the triple rollover later that week could be won as she tucked the ticket into her dress and telling Shaun that they were on a tight schedule as oxtail soup was being served at 02:30pm. Wilf and Sylvia silently celebrated as they knew it'd be the answer to Donna and Shaun's financial issues. As Donna walked off, Sylvia and Wilf watched the Doctor leave, Wilf choking up in tears.
