Abel's Story was a Sixth Doctor comic published in Doctor Who Magazine. It was the second consecutive script to be themed around the Skeletoids. It largely featured Abel Gantz, with the Sixth Doctor, Frobisher and Peri relegated to non-speaking roles. After being introduced here, Gantz would appear in The Warrior's Story and Frobisher's Story.

Summary[[edit] | [edit source]]

The Skeletoids are coming! As the galaxy prepares itself, Abel Gantz's life is changed forever.

Plot[[edit] | [edit source]]

The Doctor, Frobisher and Peri meet Abel Gantz, an alchemist who has developed the ability to transform his flesh into any element and shape imaginable following a laboratory accident indirectly caused by the TARDIS' escape from the Funhouse.

Notes[[edit] | [edit source]]

The colour reprint of the above panel.
  • This story was reprinted in DWCC 20 and Voyager.
  • The title Abel's Story, when paired with Kane's Story, forms a reference to Cain and Abel, two siblings mentioned in the book of Genesis of the Bible.

Continuity[[edit] | [edit source]]

  • Abel Gantz's laboratory was destroyed by a rogue chunk of the Time Vortex created when the TARDIS breaks free of the Funhouse. (COMIC: Funhouse [+]Loading...["Funhouse (comic story)"])
