TransAllied, Inc, known in short as TAI, was one of the largest corporations in Mutter's Spiral. Staffed by nearly 12,000,000,000 employees and with workforces on over 100 planets, it was owned and run by Arnold Baynes. The Sixth Doctor joked that it must have had the largest staff canteen in the universe. TIA was founded by his ancestor Elias Baynes in the 38th century as a small robot production plant. It sold robots, starships, terraformers, medical equipment, explosives, foodstuffs, protective clothing, weft engines, computer brains, recreational narcotics, laser cannons and more.
TAI ordered the closure of all mining colonies, which prompted discontent among the colonies' inhabitants. (AUDIO: Davros)
