In 1812, Napoléon Bonaparte invaded Russia in anticipation of a Russian attempt to retake Poland. The War Lords kidnapped several French and Russian soldiers from this time for use in their war games. (DW: The War Games) Both the First Doctor (CC: Mother Russia) and Iris Wildthyme (BFIW: The Panda Invasion, BFIW: The Claws of Santa) met Napoléon on the Russian front during this time.
