In Europe, the first years of the 1810s were characterised by the war between France and Russia, which led to the fall of Napoléon Bonaparte. More than one incarnation of the Doctor (AUDIO: Mother Russia, PROSE: Emotional Chemistry) and Iris Wildthyme (AUDIO: The Panda Invasion, Iris Wildthyme and the Claws of Santa) witnessed that series of events.
In 1814, the last of the great frost fairs took place in London. It was visited at least by two incarnations of the Doctor. (TV: A Good Man Goes to War, Thin Ice; AUDIO: Frostfire; PROSE: The Frozen)
