A third series of adventures starring the [[Eighth Doctor]] and [[Lucie Miller|Lucie]] as played by [[Paul McGann]] and [[Sheridan Smith]] has been confirmed. They begin recording in the summer of 2008.
 
It was also confirmed in Doctor Who Magazine issue 395 that that the [[Wirrn]], who originally appeared in [[Fourth Doctor|The Fourth Doctor's]] second story ''[[The Ark in Space]]'', will return in a story written by [[Nicholas Briggs]].
 
The season will consist of at least 8 stories and will be released from March 2009.
 
The first story of the season will follow on from the cliffhanger ending to [[Vengence of Morbius]].
