Liam Cunningham (born 2 June 1961[1]) portrayed Captain Zhukov in the Doctor Who television story Cold War.

Around 1996, Cunningham had auditioned for the role of the Eighth Doctor, in both an American accent and his own Dublin accent.[2] The role was instead given to Paul McGann.
