Paul Brown was the husband of Janine Foster and father of Peri Brown, a companion of the Doctor during his fifth and sixth incarnations.

Paul and Janine Brown were married on 21 November 1962. (AUDIO: Peri and the Piscon Paradox) Their only child, Perpugilliam "Peri" Brown, was born in 1966. (AUDIO: The Reaping) When Peri was growing up, she and Paul often enjoyed watching the James Bond films together. (AUDIO: The Veiled Leopard) He also taught her how to fire a gun. Paul and Janine were friends of Anthony Chambers and his family, who lived nearby in the Fell's Point neighbourhood of Baltimore, Maryland, USA. (AUDIO: The Reaping) He owned a Chevy which Peri considered a "jalopy." (AUDIO: Trouble in Paradise)
