"Earth-616" refers to the main universe of Marvel Comics' comic books, and is part of the Marvel Multiverse. However, in the early days of the Marvel Multiverse, the line between parallel universes was much less defined as opposed to Marvel's current rigorous numbering system brought by handbooks in the 2000s. As such, in comics crossing over with the Doctor Who universe (DWU) from the 1980s and 1990s, Earth-616 is generally not treated as an entirely separate universe as it is in modern comics such as Clone Drive [+]Loading...["Clone Drive (comic story)"], due to the use of retroactive continuity on Marvel's part.
