As "Aunty Pat" pulled the TARDIS back to Christmas 2008 using the parabolic diverter, not the Christmas to which the Doctor had intended to travel, the events of The End of Time would have had no bearing on this story. This, of course, means that the events of [[Voyage of the Damned]] should have been occurring at the same time as this story. Either the Doctor simply did not realize what was going on (he was somewhat preoccupied at the time) or the events of the [[Last Great Time War]] altered Christmas 2008 following this story.''

Death in Blackpool was the first story in the fourth series of the Eighth Doctor Adventures, produced by Big Finish Productions. It was written by Alan Barnes and featured Paul McGann as the Eighth Doctor and Sheridan Smith as Lucie Miller.

Even though she would make an appearance in five more stories, this story marked the end of Lucie's travels aboard the TARDIS, and also closed the "Auntie Pat" story-arc.
