The Avenues of Possibility was the fifth story in the audio anthology The Legacy of Time, produced by Big Finish Productions. It was written by Jonathan Morris and featured Colin Baker as the Sixth Doctor, India Fisher as Charlotte Pollard and Anna Hope as DI Patricia Menzies.

DI Patricia Menzies is used to the strange, but even she is surprised when the eighteenth century itself falls onto her patch. Fortunately, she has the founders of modern policing to help with her enquiries. And when the Sixth Doctor and Charley arrive, they find armed and hostile forces trying to change Earth history forever.

- While draining the Doctor of temporal energy, the Sirens tell Charley they are not going to kill him. They need him alive, so that he could create a greater time paradox, one which "would consume the Time Lords". (AUDIO: The Sirens of Time)
