How's it going, Cookie? I wanted to ask, since you were the one who created the pages for Untitled 1 (May 2024 TV story) and Untitled 2 (May 2024 TV story), I was wondering what your reasoning is for labelling the latter as invalid, but not the former? I went and created a page for the third promo that was shown during the end credits of Space Babies, where I used what you did for Untitled 2 as a base, including keeping the invalid tag just to be safe. :No problem! If you want to keep making your own additions to the TV guide issues, here are a couple of things to keep in mind going forward:
* Our numbering system for every TV guide magazine (except for Radio Times) is one that's been made up by myself, with the permission of the mods. The issue numbering is reset with each calendar year, with the first issue of each cycle being those where the cover date is the first full week of the year. For example; the "first" TVSW issue of 2020 is dated 4-10 January. There are 51 or 52 issues yearly depending on how the weeks pan out. The last issue of each year is usually, but not always, the Christmas double issue.
* When creating new issue pages, I strongly recommend using the existing issue pages as a base to keep things consistent.
:If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask! WaltK <span title="Talk to me">☎</span> 19:03, 6 September 2024 (UTC)
:: Oh yeah, I should also point out that TV Times also goes by this convention, in spite of the fact that they had their own numbering system up to 2018. We decided to ignore this numbering for our pages because, to put it bluntly, their numbering had absolutely zero rhyme or reason to it and thus made it impossible to keep track of outside of physically owning the issues themselves. Hi Cookieboy,
I've been going through the Special:Uncategorized Categories page recently, to clear out the massive backlog, and most of what's left now is character, actor, and other image categories, and so I was wondering if you'd be able to have a look at it, as it seems you know the image categorising system far better than I, and I don't want to create loads of mistakes for you to have to fix.
Thanks! :)

I hope the user talk page is an appropriate place for this, I'm a bit new. If the forum would be a better location let me know.
Regarding your reversion. I’ve been attempting to clean up the "with unknown names" categories, and part of this is that there seems to have been no standardisation regarding noun-adjective order sorting for these characters. Some have been sorted "adjective noun" while others have been sorted "noun, adjective". Based on previous non-wiki experiences I've been attempting to standardise it the second way (Ex: "Angry man" as "man, angry", "Female soldier" as "soldier, female", etc.) but I'm obviously open to suggestions. Do you know if there's any official policy on this? If there is one, I have not been able to locate it. Either way the issue comes down there are pages that need to be re-sorted. Proposed deletionsedit source

Hi I just wanted to let you know that we have a template for suggesting page deletions. If you use it, the page is added to the list of suggested deletions, making it easier for admins to find which pages are suggested for deletion. When you use the template, Proposed deletion, after the word deletion you would place a | (vertical bar, sorry I don't know what it's actually called), then write your reason for proposing the deletion. Thanks Shambala108 20:10, 10 April 2022 (UTC)

Didn't I do that with one of the vandalism pages? Cookieboy 2005 20:36, 10 April 2022 (UTC)

Vandalsedit source

Hi please don't engage with vandals. They want attention. Thanks Shambala108 22:50, 16 April 2022 (UTC)

Re: Typo in Special:Preferencesedit source

I'm not an admin, but I am knowledgeable about this topic which is why I am responding to your message intended for Shambala. You're right that we don't have the ability to edit most of Special:Preferences, but the gadgets tab is actually entirely editable as all of the features on it were added by the wiki instead of being Fandom-wide. In fact, I'm the one who set up the gadgets currently available (with the help of an admin to perform edits to pages that only admins can edit) and so that typo is mine. The relevant page that needs editing is MediaWiki:Gadget-search bar so I'll pass it onto to an admin to get fixed. Bongo50 15:43, 11 May 2022 (UTC)

Ah, I don't know much about how gadgets work. Glad to hear that it'll be fixed (hopefully). Cookieboy 2005 17:00, 11 May 2022 (UTC)

Other users' pagesedit source

Hi please note that it is against our vandalism policy to edit other users' pages, whether sandbox or otherwise. Your intentions were good, but if you see something on another user's page that needs fixing, please ask an admin to take care of it thanks Shambala108 21:57, 22 May 2022 (UTC)

This also applies to other users' comments on talk pages. If you see something that needs to be removed, contact an admin. Shambala108 14:19, 26 May 2022 (UTC)

Quick question (feel free to delete)edit source

Hi Cookieboy 2005, I added the Batmobile to the category 'Fictional vehicles', and I've just seen that you recently removed this tag. Since I'm new to this wiki and I want to make good contributions, and I was wondering if you could let me know why this tag was wrong so I can avoid making similar mistakes in future? Apologies if this isn't the correct way of getting in touch! Looking forward to hearing back, Dan The preceding unsigned comment was added by DanPPower (talk • contribs) .

As it hasn't appeared in content considered "DWU" by the wiki, the fact that the vehicle only seems to be presented as "real" in the game, and the fact that the category "Fictional vehicles" is for DWU fictional vehicles, it seemed no more valid than the Black Pig (which is in "Non-DWU technology"), which also appeared only in "invalid" sources. T:VALID may be a good read for further information. (also the correct way to sign a comment is with "~~~~" at the end). Cookieboy 2005 15:13, 28 May 2022 (UTC)
Brilliant, thank you for the explanation and the link! I'll give it a read now :) DanPPower 17:46, 28 May 2022 (UTC)

Re: Noatedit source

Edit summaries exist for a reason. Your change had already been reverted before due to lack of explanation and you then went on to make the same unexplained change again. If you see something that you admit is important rather than removing the information completely you should start a discussion on how to work around the issues, such as I did at Talk:Diane Holmes. DrWHOCorrieFan 11:34, 31 July 2022 (UTC)

Categoriesedit source

Hi I just want to make sure you are familiar with Tardis:Rule of three when it comes to categorization. Please make sure you don't create categories that have two or fewer items thanks Shambala108 21:54, 6 August 2022 (UTC)

It's preferred that you don't assume the other images will be created. If you are going to create them, do so and then create the category. If you are not going to create them, then don't create the category. The part of the policy you cited isn't really a blanket approval to assume someone else is going to create enough images or articles. Thanks! Shambala108 00:00, 17 August 2022 (UTC)

Re: categories and sandboxedit source

Yes, that is correct. Or else they should be turned from "[[Category:" to "[[:Category:", to make them into links rather than, well, actual category tags. Although "never return to the main namespace" may come across harsher than I meant to, haha. Under current policy and in their current states they shouldn't be brought back, but I'm hardly saying "salt the earth where they were written and burn the records" here. I could see at least some of those drafts being brought back someday, for example if new accounts are published which justify their outlook better. Scrooge MacDuck 22:14, 30 August 2022 (UTC)

BBC DVD coversedit source

Hi, I've been gathering every BBC DVD cover image on the wiki into one of my sandboxes, in order to see where there are any missing covers or duplicates.

Pop over and have a look, and feel free to upload any of the missing covers.

P.S. I'm messaging several users so check the upload log first.

This Town Coveredit source

Politely, we were trying to get that image deleted, because This Town Will Never Let Us Go already has an image, and the image in question was uploaded under the mistaken assumption that its Prologue had a cover. Your move was counter productive, please read the edit summaries next time. Najawin 22:38, 21 December 2022 (UTC)

Yeah, I left a much longer reason that Jack trimmed down. (I don't think it technically qualifies as a duplicate because it doesn't have the text.) Not the end of the world. Najawin 22:50, 21 December 2022 (UTC)
File:This Town Will Never Let Us Go.jpg. Ah, turns out it is just a copy, so says autofill, CoT already uploaded it at File:This Town Will Never Let Us Go cover art.jpg. Open and shut case, thank you for asking for that actually! Najawin 23:00, 21 December 2022 (UTC)

LEGO conjectureedit source

Hi. I've noticed that you've been making pages on characters from the LEGO Dimensions promo material, but with the "conjecture" template in cases where their names are not stated. This is not needed, as per policy. Since Assimilation², it has been our policy that we do not need characters and concepts identified in crossovers for us to identify them by name. This is why pages like Leonard McCoy have the full names of characters even if some were not clearly identified in the comic. So you can add info to Proton pack without conjecture, you don't need the tag for Shaggy Rogers or Peter Venkman or Abby Yates or any of the other pages where this info will end up someday. Weetabixedit source

Hey, I saw you added an image to the Weetabix add page. Thank you, but I was wondering if you had an image where the Red Dalek was in full shot. I feel that'd best represent the article. Much obliged. 81.108.82.15talk to me 21:48, 15 April 2023 (UTC)

Page moveedit source

Hey, any chance you’d be able to move the page “Peter Capaldi and the Shy Cyberman” to the more common titled that appeared on screen. As I feel it’s the intended name and certainly the one used the most. Many thanks. The other title is on the rename tag on the page. 81.108.82.15talk to me 17:59, 24 April 2023 (UTC)

Re: Disney XD promosedit source

They're all on YouTube, but I can't link to them because they're unofficial uploads. It's also impossible to get any good screenshots because the uploader had to go and put their watermark in the corner. The only reason I was able to get that higher quality Mystery Shack image is because I knew what GF episode it originated from took it from there. WaltK 15:39, 30 April 2023 (UTC)

Okay, where the heck did you get those images? Not only is there no watermark, but the resolution is stunningly high. WaltK 17:13, 30 April 2023 (UTC)

edit source

Hello again! I just wanted to make sure that you got that Disney Time logo screenshot from the actual episode itself? I only ask because it looks remarkably similar to the logo from the unofficial fan restoration that Ottel sent me. WaltK 16:38, 5 May 2023 (UTC)

Re: Duplicate filesedit source

Ahh, was not aware. Thanks for the tip! WaltK 20:21, 23 June 2023 (UTC)

Re: File typesedit source

Thanks for letting me know. I got the wrong impression from the policies on the upload page and assumed they were only used for transparent photos, and I had seen articles with older images deleted for that reason. That's my bad for not double-checking. BlueSupergiant 11:19, 21 August 2023 (UTC)

Question about a page you wroteedit source

Hi, I was just looking at https://tardis.fandom.com/wiki/The_Giant_X-Word_(game) which is supposedly in TV Comic Holiday Special 1971 but there is no such feature in there, nor in the TV Comic Annual or Countdown Holiday Special 1971. Since you're the only editor of that page wondering if you might know where it's actually from? Just curious really! Tmjjmt 22:01, 24 October 2023 (UTC)

Ah, it's actually the 1974 special I've realised! I'll correct the page, thanks for the quick reply! Tmjjmt 22:52, 24 October 2023 (UTC)

Simpsons imagesedit source

Hey, so, if we're really gonna go all in on providing visual evidence for each DW reference in Simpsons media, maybe, at the very least, you should think about putting them all into gallery sections rather than having them cluttering everything up? WaltK 17:29, 5 November 2023 (UTC)

I'm personally not a fan of the Wikisimpsons method but… I dunno. To be honest, I personally rather you didn't bring all the images in to begin with, primarily for this exact reason, but also because I personally don't think visual depictions of comic word balloons should qualify for this sort of thing. WaltK 23:36, 5 November 2023 (UTC)
