A Hero like the Doctor, also just called Hero[1], was a Doctor Who minisode webcast in 2017, coinciding with the debut of Series 10. It mostly featured the Twelfth Doctor adventuring alone, but the narration was read by Pearl Mackie (who played Bill Potts) and Bill was seen by his side in the final shot.

Synopsis[[edit] | [edit source]]

Bill Potts reflects on the qualities of the Twelfth Doctor. While she speaks, he is seen evading a group of tanks trying to destroy the TARDIS as well as a Black Dalek, before finally landing on an alien planet where a Pompeii-like city is being destroyed by a volcano erupting. Making his way through the abandoned, already crumbling city, the Doctor finds a single bird which had been left behind, trapped in its cage and therefore unable to escape. He rescues the bird and then sets it free from the peak of a mountain in a more peaceful area of the planet, in the presence of a delighted Bill.
