The Doctor encounters Kate Maguire, who is investigating the complex, and together, they go into the WinterZone, where they find a setting similar to the novel, "The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe". The Snow Queen attacks them, and then comes up into the shopping area before being shut down.

Autonomy was the thirty-fifth novel in the BBC New Series Adventures series. It was written by Daniel Blythe and featured the Tenth Doctor.
