Justice Alpha was a prison planet, and the first planet in the Justicia system. It orbited its three suns at a distance of almost exactly 100 million miles. It had a green sky with soft, olive soil, large muddy plateaux, and lower gravity than Earth. (PROSE: The Monsters Inside)
History[[edit] | [edit source]]
Justicia, a private prison contractor, took over the Justicia star system and all of its planets to establish a gigantic prison colony. They imported human and non-human inmates, and put them to work, generating profits for the prison. Among these planets was Justice Alpha.
Over time, the focus of the prison moved away from forced labour to experimentation, and prisoners were used as test subjects as Justicia trialled numerous methods of creating and maintaining social order. Justice Alpha in particular was used for historical re-enactments, and human prisoners were forced to build pyramids, go mining, and row in old galleys. As well as being an experiment on the effects of hard labour on prisoners, these re-enactments brought tourists to Justice Alpha, generating further profits for the Justicia company.
By 2501, Justicia had been infiltrated by the Blathereen, who systematically replaced the individuals in charge with members of their own family. They made plans to store processed fuel on Justice Alpha once their grand plan had been executed.
In 2501, Rose Tyler and the Ninth Doctor arrived on the planet, not knowing it was part of an active prison system. It was the first alien world Rose had ever seen. Rose and the Doctor were quickly arrested for trespass, and automatically sentenced to twenty-five years in prison. Rose was sent to a detention centre on Justice Beta, and the Doctor to the SCAT-house on Justice Prime. (PROSE: The Monsters Inside)
