Charles II (29 May 1630 – 6 February 1685) was the King of England from 1660 to 1685.
Biography
The eldest son of King Charles I, who had been executed by the Roundheads on 30 January 1649, Charles became the king in 1660 after Parliament invited him to take the throne of England. (PDA: The Roundheads)
Charles, himself a Protestant, blamed the English Catholics for the Great Fire of London in September 1666.
