Ealing was a district of West London. It was the administrative centre of the Borough of Ealing; and was immediately south of Perivale, also in the borough.

A local newspaper was the Ealing Echo. (TV: Revenge of the Slitheen) A local comprehensive school was Park Vale. (TV: Invasion of the Bane) Serving younger children was St Benedict's School. (PROSE: Timewyrm: Revelation) Ealing's Greenford Station was a London Underground stop. (TV: The Temptation of Sarah Jane Smith)

In 1969, Autons smashed through their shop windows and proceed along Ealing Broadway and the High Street, killing many humans. (TV: Spearhead from Space)

In 1989, while investigating the disappearance of people from Perivale and suspecting Kitlings, the Seventh Doctor purchased cat food in an adjoining portion of Ealing while Ace looked for her missing friends next-door in the Drayton Court Pub. (TV: Survival) [See also: the pair's travels to the village of Perivale, also in the borough of Ealing.]

Sometime after 1984 (TV: The Five Doctors) and before 2008, (TV: Invasion of the Bane) Sarah Jane Smith and K-9 moved into 13 Bannerman Road. Before 2008, Sarah Jane brought a Xylok into her home; it took the name Mr Smith. (TV: The Lost Boy)

In 1990, the Seventh Doctor and Ace ordered baked Alaska in a café on Ealing Broadway. (PROSE: Cat's Cradle: Time's Crucible)

In August 2008 Alan Jackson and his daughter Maria moved into 36 Bannerman Road. (TV: Invasion of the Bane) They relocated to Washington, D.C. a year later. (TV: The Last Sontaran)

In May or June 2009, one of six nodes [five active at any given point] of former Prime Minister Harriet Jones's subwave network was established at 13 Bannerman Road in response to the Daleks' removal of the Earth.

In or about October 2009, Haresh and Gita Chandra moved into 36 Bannerman Road with their daughter Rani. (TV: The Day of the Clown)

The Doctor visited Ealing and encountered Sarah Jane Smith and her companions on at least two occasions during his tenth incarnation (TV: The Wedding of Sarah Jane Smith; TV: The End of Time), and at least once during his eleventh. (TV: Death of the Doctor) In addition to myriad aliens and terrestrial forces and more mundane guests, other visitors to Ealing included former companions Brigadier Sir Alistair Gordon Lethbridge-Stewart (TV: Enemy of the Bane) and Jo Grant. (TV: Death of the Doctor)

Throughout the late 2000s and early 2010s, there was a large amount of alien activity centred on the Ealing area. (TV: Invasion of the Bane, Whatever Happened to Sarah Jane?, The Lost Boy, The Day of the Clown, The Nightmare Man, The Vault of Secrets) The amount of strange and alien occurrences around the area led to it being dubbed "The Ealing Triangle". (TV: Goodbye, Sarah Jane Smith)

Alternate timeline

Ealing, like the rest of the Earth, was destroyed by The Trickster after resident Sarah Jane Smith was lured into changing the timeline in north suburban Foxgrove on 18 August 1951. Clyde Langer and Rani Chandra retained their memories of the "proper" timeline and remained inviolable from the Graske by holding the Verron puzzlebox. (TV: The Temptation of Sarah Jane Smith)
