On 27 October, the following important behind-the-scenes events were known to have occurred:
- 1965 - Make-up lead Sonia Markham responded to producer John Wiles' 26 October memo, and apologised profusely about the lack of continuity with Brian Cant's beard from scene to scene in "The Nightmare Begins". She pushed back, however, against Wiles' criticism of the wig Hartnell wore as the First Doctor, explaining that there is little which can be done about being able to see the wig line during close-ups.
- 1970 - Script editor Terrance Dicks wrote to writer Louis Marks about Marks' story idea for Day of the Daleks, "the addition of the 'going into the future' storyline gives it the added science fiction feeling that we need." He however explained that he had not yet been given to all-clear to commission another season, and thus could not yet commission his storyline. He finally gave the order on 22 January 1971.
- 2005 - The shooting script for The Age of Steel, then titled Parallel World Part 2, was issued. (DWMSE 14)
