Attack of the Daleks was a Second Doctor comic story first published in TV Comic Annual 1968.

Summary

The TARDIS arrives on an alien planet: just the place for the Doctor to test out his pedal-copter! Whilst flying, one of the blades breaks and his grandchildren and he fly out of control, crashing on a rocky outcrop. As they crash they see Daleks. The Doctor, John and Gillian use the shattered pieces of rocks around them to attack the Daleks. The Doctor, John and Gillian use a large boulder to stop the Daleks from following them and use the Dalek's space craft to return to the TARDIS.

References

Daleks

  • The Daleks refer to their gunsticks as "exterminators".
  • Gillian at first doubts the Doctor's pedal-copter will fly.

Notes

  • Likely due to the artist's unfamiliarity with the televised Daleks' design, the Daleks in this story are a unique variant, with colour schemes not seen anywhere else and, most strikingly, one single oversized luminosity discharger each, rather than the familiar two.
  • The story's original printing has no clear title, only the words "Doctor Who and the Daleks", which may be intended to be merely logos.
