In Greek mythology, Deimos was the son of Mars. He had a brother named Phobos. The moons of the planet Mars were therefore named Phobos and Deimos. (AUDIO: Phobos, Deimos)
Behind the scenes
Phobos and Deimos are actually the sons of Ares, the Greek equivalent of Mars.
