A dimension bridge avatar, also known as a mental avatar, flesh avatar or, at least in the case of humans, human avatar, was the physical form that an individual took when their consciousness was transmitted into a parallel universe or alternate timeline via the use of dimension bridge technology. They were exploited by the Cybermen of the Cyber-Mainframe as part of the process of forging dimension bridges into alternate realities to commence dimension seeding and continue their mission to upgrade the multiverse.

Once an individual used a piece of dimension bridge technology that had been translocated into their universe, their consciousness would manifest as a dimension bridge avatar at a location conquered by the Cybermen within a parallel universe or alternate timeline that the Cybermen had already commenced dimension seeding in.
