The Half-Head Pierrot was originally was one of several sentries which were posted along the Embankment at Westminster, where they posed as living statues days in advance of the 2005 Nestene invasion of Earth. On the night of the invasion, the Nestene Consciousness was gravely wounded when it was stuck by a vial of anti-plastic during a confrontation with the Ninth Doctor and Rose Tyler. As a result, all the plastic guards dissolved with the exception of the pierrot, who was left deformed while serving as a host for the single surviving "nugget" of the Consciousness.
