Best man

Best man was a position at weddings.

The Ninth Doctor was the best man at the wedding of Dave Tonbridge's parents over forty years before 2005. (PROSE: Have You Seen This Man?)

In 1992, when Charlie Pocket and his wife were married in Las Vegas, they needed a best man and a witness and grabbed the first people they could find off of the street: the Ninth Doctor and Rose Tyler. The Doctor signed his name as "Doctor John Smith" on the marriage certificate. (PROSE: Have You Seen This Man?)

Banana Boat served as best man for Gwen Cooper and Rhys Williams' wedding. As such, he was to personally check matters such as the wedding cake, disco, flowers and seating etc. (TV: Something Borrowed)

Bernice Summerfield was Irving Braxiatel's best man at his and Veronica Bland's wedding. (AUDIO: Braxiatel in Love)
