Captain Adelaide Brooke was a companion of the the Doctor. She was head of Bowie Base 1 on Mars in the year 2059, which came under seige by a water-based entity called The Flood. (DW: The Waters of Mars)

- On 19 February 2009, the BBC announced that Lindsay Duncan would play Adelaide in the second of the Doctor Who specials that will be aired in 2009. She has been stated to be playing "the Doctor's most strong-minded companion yet."[1]
