Curriculum Vitae was the eleventh short story in the Short Trips anthology Short Trips: Companions. It was written by Simon Guerrier. It featured Polly Wright.

Summary

Some years after her time with the Doctor, Polly is out of a job. She has applied for the position of personal assistant to John Eliot Maurice, who works in the music business.

She sits in the waiting room before her interview, where a young girl is also waiting. When Maurice comes to get her, Polly can tell he is more interested in hiring the younger girl.

During the interview, Maurice asks Polly many difficult questions, but she is able to hold her own. At first it is apparent to her that he doesn't seriously consider her for the job, but by the end of the interview he is impressed enough to keep her in mind.

Notes

  • The younger girl in the waiting room with Polly is Australian and used to be a stewardess, but the story does not say that she is Tegan.
  • No year is explicitly mentioned in this story. However, it is implied that John Major was re-elected (real world 1992) and the group 2Unlimited [sic] hit number one the day before (real world 13 February 1993).
